National League Gold Glove award finalists were announced Oct. 15, and Reds first baseman Spencer Steer and third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes are among them.
Steer has not won a Gold Glove in his four MLB seasons, all with the Reds. He is up against the Philadelphia Phillies’ Bryce Harper and the Atlanta Braves’ Matt Olson for the award.
Steer played a career-high 122 games at first base last season. He appeared in the outfield in 11 games.
Hayes, acquired by the Reds from the Pirates at the trade deadline, won the NL Gold Glove at third base in 2023 for Pittsburgh.
Ryan McMahon of the Rockies/Yankees and the Cubs’ Matt Shaw are the two other finalists at third base.
Hayes appeared in 52 games at third base for the Reds last season.
