CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Four pitchers notched at least one save for the Cincinnati Reds in 2025, and one of them just became a free agent.
Randy Wynne appeared in just one game last season. The 32-year-old took the mound in Baltimore against the Orioles with the Reds ahead 12-1. The right-hander pitched the last three innings, allowing three hits, one run on a solo homer, while striking out three. He threw 47 pitches to get a save in the eventual 24-2 victory.
Because Wynne was outrighted from Cincinnati’s 40-man roster during the season and wasn’t added back, and because it wasn’t the first time in his career going through that process, he could become a minor league free agent.
Wynne made his MLB debut in relief for the Reds in one game in 2023, and took the loss, before he was outrighted from the roster.
Emilio Pagan led the team in saves last season with 32. Tony Santillan had seven saves and Scott Barlow earned one.
