Orioles bring back fan-favorite Adam Jones as special advisor and community ambassador

The Orioles have officially brought back a long-time fan-favorite in former outfielder Adam Jones as he returns to the team as a special advisor to the general manager as well as a community ambassador.Jones will advise Orioles GM Mike Elias and serve as a resource for the Baseball Operations department. He will also continue his role in the community by participating in several club-sponsored community service projects. He is scheduled to join the Orioles during Spring Training where he will serve as a guest coach.”I am grateful for the Orioles relationships I have formed since my retirement, which have led us to this exciting partnership. Having the opportunity to be around the game that I love, while also learning the operations side of baseball from one of the best General Managers is truly an honor. I am happy to be a resource for the Orioles organization and will offer everything I’ve learned from past experience to help the team succeed,” Jones shared. “Baltimore has always meant so much to me, and this unique role will allow me to continue giving back to the community I love. This is a special opportunity and I’m eager to embrace it fully.”The long-time Oriole spent 11 seasons with the club from 2008-2018 and ranks in the top-5 in several Orioles statistics such as total bases, runs scored and home runs.
