The first ticket to the World Series could be punched on Friday, Oct. 17.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, who are up, 3-0, in their Natoinal League Championship Series with the Milwaukee Brewers thanks to superb pitching, are one win from their second straight NL pennant.

Dave Roberts’ team is looking for the sweep in Game 4 at home to advance to its fifth World Series appearance in the last nine years. The Dodgers have been the best team this postseason, losing only once in nine games.

Meanwhile, in the American League, it hasn’t been so straightforward.

After the Seattle Mariners won the first two games of the AL Championship Series on the road, the Toronto Blue Jays repaid the favor and answered with back-to-back dominant road wins to even the series.

The pivotal Game 5 of the ALCS kicks off the day’s postseason action before the NLCS Game 4 closes out the evening.
