A familiar team already has its ticket to the World Series.

Will a newcomer join them?

Two nights after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the National League pennant behind an all-time performance from Shohei Ohtani to complete a sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers and advance to the World Series for the 23rd time, their opponent in the Fall Classic could be determined tonight.

The Seattle Mariners, coming off a wild Game 5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series, find themselves one victory from securing their first-ever trip to the World Series. They lead the ALCS, 3-2, with Game 6 set for Oct. 19.

The Blue Jays, who had dropped the first two games in the series before taking Games 3 and 4, look to regroup back at home as they try to stave off elimination and force a winner-take-all Game 7 on Oct. 20.

Toronto is turning to 22-year-old rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage for the second time in the series in hopes it goes better than the first start. In Game 2, the young Blue Jays righty allowed a three-run homer to Julio Rodríguez before recording the first out in the first inning of an eventual 10-3 Mariners win.

It’s been a home-run heavy series for both teams. And it likely won’t stop in Game 6 of this unpredictable series.

Where is the Mariners vs Blue Jays Game 6?

Game 6 of the ALCS will take place at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The Blue Jays had the second-best home record during the regular season and best of all American League teams. But they’ve proven to be vulnerable at Rogers Centre in this series. They lost twice in their home ballpark to begin the series. Meanwhile, the Mariners had a sub-.500 road record during the regular season, the worst of any division winner in 2025. The Mariners, however, have shown they can win on the road in the playoffs. They’re 3-1 away from T-Mobile Park this postseason, including winning Games 1 and 2 in Toronto.

If they win one more at the Rogers Centre they’ll win the American League pennant for the first time.

On the other hand, if the Blue Jays can win two more in their home stadium they’ll celebrate their first World Series berth since 1993 in front of their fans.

ALCS schedule: Blue Jays vs Mariners

After dropping Games 3 and 4 on their home field, the Mariners trailed 2-1 in the eighth inning of Game 6 and were in danger of going down in the series. Then the Mariners’ stars changed that with a couple of swings. Cal Raleigh’s solo home run tied it at 2-2 and moments later, Eugenio Suárez’s grand slam put Seattle ahead 6-2. It was Suárez’s second home run of the game. The Mariners now bring a 3-2 series lead into Toronto for Game 6.
