The Texas Rangers offense was one of the worst in baseball in 2025. Even when Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia and Josh Jung were healthy, they were not good.
They won the World Series in 2023 but definitely have not done much since. Many of these same players now struggling lead the team to a championship.
Bruce Bochy is gone, most of the pitching staff are free agents and the offense will remain mostly the same.
Hard Decisions
The Rangers have some tough decisions to make on their aging or unproductive players. Some of those decisions include Marcus Semien, who has had back to back down years. Corey Seager can’t stay healthy.
Adolis Garcia had a very unproductive season by his standards. Josh Jung had a bad year coming off back to back injured seasons.
Evan Carter can’t stay healthy either. This team is getting older and slower and less productive.
So what can the Rangers do to fix their offense woes? They thought they had done enough to fix it in 025, but Jock Pederson and Jake Burger did not work out like the team had hoped.
The team has already stated that they are going to cut budget next season, so we know they are not going to add a lot of guys.
2026 should bring Rangers fans a budget team, a team with guys that don’t make a lot of headlines. That doesn’t automatically mean failure, but it means that they would have to overperform.
Return To Form
Can Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia, Marcus Semien and others return to form? That is the important questions going forward.
If they cannot, the Rangers may need to move on from them sooner rather than later. After back to back down years following a World Series victory, the Rangers are taking a step back payroll wise.
They are going to need some of their stars to return to their offensive form or else it will be the 3rd straight long season.
