Notorious Canadian rapper Drake posted a brief message on social media as his hometown Toronto Blue Jays advanced to the World Series to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The image he shared was him at Dodger Stadium when he rented it out for a date in 2021. The caption reads “World Series Bound,” with the song “OK Blue Jays” featured in the post.

Drake has always been linked to the Toronto sports scene, specifically with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.
The rapper was named the Global Ambassador of the Raptors in 2013, and is often seen courtside at games. After accepting the job, he stated the importance of not only the basketball team in Toronto, but the city itself and his admiration for it.
“I’ve supported the franchise through our ups and downs” Drake said in 2013. “More than anything, I’m a Toronto guy. I’m a city guy.
“I care about the city more than anything in the world.”
With Drake’s baseball team now in the Fall Classic, there appears to be another layer of drama given their matchup with the Dodgers.
Drake was involved in a public feud with Los Angeles-based rapper Kendrick Lamar last year, and one of the songs released as a result, Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us,’ has been used by LA as a rallying cry during Dodgers home games.
Although Lamar — who grew up in Los Angeles and has been spotted at Dodger Stadium a few times over the years —and his Dodgers are facing off against Drake and his Blue Jays, there are bigger implications at stake for the ballclubs.
The Dodgers have a chance at history, becoming baseball’s first back-to-back champions in a quarter-century, and the Blue Jays are trying to get back to the Fall Classic for the first time since 1993. That ’93 win was the second of a back-to-back run from Toronto, coincidentally.
