Mike Blowers had one of the greatest premonitions in Seattle Mariners history.

Blowers, a former player turned Mariners television analyst, was on the pregame show for a Mariners game in September 2009 with when he made the very specific prediction that Matt Tuiasosopo hit his first career home run to the second deck in left-center field on a fastball in a 3-1 count in his second at-bat of the game.

Tuiasosopo did exactly that, belting a solo home run to the second deck in the fifth inning against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Now Jorge Polanco has his own great moment of clairvoyance in Toronto.

Julio Rodríguez blasted a tiebreaking solo home run in the top of the third inning to give the Mariners a 2-1 lead over the Blue Jays in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series on Monday.

The FOX television cut to a clip of the Mariners dugout during the homer that showed Polanco give third baseman Eugenio Suárez a look. Suárez then embraced him and gestured towards Polanco while telling teammate J.P. Crawford that he called it.

What a call.

Rodríguez belted his home run 423 feet with a 108.6 mph exit velocity off Blue Jays starter Shane Bieber after battling back from down 0-2 to work a seven-pitch at-bat. It was the slugger’s fourth homer of the postseason.

Rodríguez joined Ken Griffey Jr. and Joey Cora by becoming the third Mariner to hit a home run in the decisive game of a playoff series, per MLB.com’s Sarah Langs. Griffey and Cora did so during Game 5 ALDS in 1995.

The center fielder also doubled and scored the first run of the game in the first inning. He’s the third player age 24 or younger with two extra-base hits in a Game 7, per Mariners PR.

The Mariners are playing in the first-ever Game 7 while trying to reach their first World Series.
