Of the 52 players projected to be on the World Series rosters (using LCS rosters as a guide), 17 ranked on a preseason Top 100 Prospects list at some point in their careers.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Roki Sasaki both ranked No. 1 on a Top 100 list. Shohei Ohtani (No. 2) and Clayton Kershaw (No. 7) were top 10 prospects, while Blake Snell (No. 12), Tyler Glasnow (No. 14), Freddie Freeman (No. 17), George Springer (No. 18) and Kevin Gausman (No. 20) cracked the top 20.
The list of Top 100 honorees will almost certainly grow next year, as Trey Yesavage figures to join for 2026.
Many more players ranked in their teams’ respective Top 30s. However, there were 10 players who never cracked a Top 30.
Of those, Hyeseong Kim, Yariel Rodriguez and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were ineligible to rank as foreign professionals who came to the U.S. as free agents. The other seven were Alex Vesia, Braydon Fisher, Kiké Hernandez, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Jack Dreyer and Nathan Lukes.
Six of the seven were written up as draft prospects, so Alex Vesia, our apologies. He’s the one player on a projected World Series roster who wasn’t ranked as a draft prospect.
