This town in our Pine Tree State was recently named one of America’s best for baseball in 2025, according to a new study and report.

Up here in New England, we love our Boston Red Sox and our baseball, and while we may not have the population to support a major professional team of our own, we deeply appreciate and cheer for the teams and traditions we do have.

WalletHub compared 333 U.S. cities with at least one MLB, MiLB, or NCAA team using 31 weighted metrics, each scored on a 100-point scale to measure the best conditions for baseball fans. Cities were then grouped by population size and division, and their weighted averages were calculated to create overall scores and rankings.

According to WalletHub and their recent report highlighting the ‘Best Baseball Cities in 2025,’ out of the 333 towns and cities that were considered, Orono ranked 58th overall.

While Orono doesn’t rank for having a major or minor league team, it did place 15th overall in the NCAA thanks to the Maine Black Bears.

On top of that, Orono tied for 1st in the entire country when it comes to having the most accessible college baseball stadiums.
