At Dodger Stadium: Pfaadt struggled against the Giants in his most recent start, giving up four runs in four innings on six hits and three walks. It was his second rough one in his past three starts. … Pfaadt threw well against the Dodgers earlier this month, firing 6⅓ scoreless innings while benefitting from good defense behind him and good fortune on hard-hit balls. … In his most recent start, Knack gave up five runs in 4⅔ innings in a game against the Athletics. … Knack has bounced between Triple-A and the majors this season. He was called up recently to help a staff that has been decimated by injuries. … Knack faced the Diamondbacks twice last season, giving up five runs in 9⅓ innings, walking two and striking out eight.

What to know about the Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers keep watching players go down with injury but keep rolling. They entered Sunday with 15 players on the injured list yet still occupied first place in the National League West. They were expected to activate IF/OF Tommy Edman from the injured list on Sunday and might bring back OF Teoscar Hernandez in time for the Diamondbacks’ series. The Dodgers lost RHP Kirby Yates to an injury over the weekend. DH Shohei Ohtani has not gotten back on the mound yet but continues to be a dominant force nevertheless. He is hitting .305/.404/.667 with 16 homers and 10 steals. 1B Freddie Freeman also is having a terrific year, with a .375/.435/.680 line with 10 doubles, one triple and nine homers. LHP Tanner Scott has thrown well in relief, logging a 1.74 ERA in 20⅔ innings, with one walk and 21 strikeouts.
