A career year has netted Brice Turang one of his first offseason awards.
The third-year second baseman has been named the Milwaukee Brewers‘ most valuable player as selected by the Milwaukee chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Turang, who turns 26 on Nov. 21, batted .288 with 18 home runs, 81 runs batted in and an on-base plus slugging of .794 with 24 stolen bases in 156 games. His 81 RBI and 94 runs scored led the major leagues at the second-base position.
He is a Silver Slugger Award and Rawlings Gold Glove Award finalist as well.
Right-hander Freddy Peralta was unanimously voted as the Brewers’ most valuable pitcher after finishing 17-6 with a 2.70 earned run average, 1.08 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched) and 204 strikeouts in 33 starts (176â…” innings).
He led the National League in wins while ranking second in opponents’ batting average (.193) and hits per nine innings (6.3) and fourth in ERA and strikeouts per nine innings (10.4).
Brice Turang was voted Brewers MVP by local media.
Right-hander Quinn Priester earned the nod as Milwaukee’s top newcomer after going 13-3 with a 3.32 ERA and WHIP of 1.24 in 29 games (24 starts). From May 30 to Sept. 18, the team won 19 consecutive games (16 starts) in which the 26-year-old appeared.

Left-hander Aaron Ashby was voted Brewers unsung hero after appearing in a career-high 43 games (one start) and went 5-2 with a 2.16 ERA, WHIP of 1.17 and three saves. Opponents batted .227 against him with Ashby stranding 17 of 22 inherited runners.
Designated hitter Christian Yelich received the Good Guy Award, which is presented to the player who has “the most outgoing, friendly presence in the clubhouse and interacts well with the media on a daily basis in a cooperative and pleasant manner.”
Yelich also won the award in 2023.
