The Toronto Blue Jays took the opening game of the 2025 World Series on Friday and are right back at it against the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 2 on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Toronto won 11-4 its first World Series game since 1993 thanks to a nine-run sixth inning that included Addison Barger delivering the first pinch-hit grand slam in Fall Classic history. The Dodgers hadn’t played a game in a week since finishing off their NLCS sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers.
“I really don’t think the week layoff had anything to do with tonight,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “We were rested. I thought we were in a good spot.”
In Game 2, Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the mound for the Dodgers while Kevin Gausman gets the start for the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
