Seibu right-handed pitcher Ichiro Tamura (31), in his ninth year as a professional, was notified on the 27th that he was no longer needed. He expressed his desire to continue playing in the NPB, saying, “I really want to play baseball,” and plans to continue training while waiting for an offer.
After making the announcement at the team office that day, he visited Belluna Dome and greeted the players and staff participating in fall practice.
Tamura attended Hotoku Gakuen and Rikkyo University before joining Seibu as the sixth pick in the 2016 draft. This season, his ninth year with the team, he only made 20 appearances due to the rise of young players, but he said, “I really want to play baseball. I have a good feeling about it. I was just starting to feel confident heading into next year,” and he is spending time reflecting on himself, believing in the good news.
