The Dodgers won that game on a walk-off home run by Max Muncy in the bottom of the 18th inning. The Dodgers won, 3-2, after both LA and Boston used nine pitchers.

The Dodgers have now been a part of the two longest games in World Series history, as the Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays are in the 15th inning of Game 3 of the 2025 World Series, also at Dodger Stadium.
