The 2025 World Series Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays, which went 18 innings and lasted six hours and 39 minutes. It also had something in common with past World Series games that went the extra mile. Country singer Brad Paisley sang the national anthem before the first pitch was thrown.
Paisley, a Dodgers fan, has performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” before four World Series games. All went for 10 or more innings, including the two longest games in World Series history.
Paisley sang the national anthem at the World Series for the first time for Game 2 of the 2017 World Series, where the Houston Astros best the Dodgers in 11 innings, eventually leading to a seven-game series victory. In 2018, Paisley performed again for Game 3, which featured a matchup between the Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox and, like Monday’s game, lasted an incredible 18 innings. In 2024, Paisley was back on the mound for Game 1 of the World Series between the Dodgers and the New York Yankees, which went 10 innings. The Yankees initially took the lead in the series, but the Dodgers ultimately won, securing their eighth franchise title.
Brad Paisley has officially sung the national anthem for:
World Series Game 2 in 2017 (11 innings)
World Series Game 3 in 2018 (18 innings)
World Series Game 1 in 2024 (10 innings)
