Arrest made in Marty Brennaman statue vandalism at Reds' Great American Ball Park

A 13-year-old has been arrested and charged with vandalism in connection with the newly installed Marty Brennaman statue outside the Great American Ballpark, officials said.

Cincinnati police announced the charges in an Oct. 28 statement. They did not specify the gender of the person involved.

The statue was installed in September to commemorate Brennaman’s 46 years as the voice of the Cincinnati Reds. It was damaged on Oct. 25, police said.

Video released by police shows someone bending, then breaking, the beloved sportscaster’s bronze microphone.
