After one of the most epic World Series (here’s a recap of last night’s extra-inning Game 7) the Dodgers decided not to head straight from the Rogers Centre to Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Instead they spent the night in Toronto to celebrate with friends and family.

The team scheduled at least two charters for their return to Los Angeles. One was for the players on flight DL8891, a Delta Air Lines 757-200. According to FlightAware.com it was scheduled to depart at 3 p.m. but didn’t take off until 3:37 p.m. and landed at 5:34 p.m. local time. The other, a United Airlines 777-200 (UA3782) carrying staff, left at 3:11 p.m. and landed at 5:11 p.m., beating the players’ flight by just over 20 minutes.
News helicopters hovered over the private terminal as each player stepped off the Delta charter, capturing the team’s triumphant return. Meanwhile, the Dodgers players and stafff shared photos and videos from their 4-hour and 27-minute flight, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at their journey home as World Series champions. Fans won’t have to wait long to celebrate in person. Tomorrow the Dodgers will take to the streets of Los Angeles for their championship parade, giving the city a chance to cheer on their heroes, see the World Series trophy up close, and join in the festive atmosphere.
