BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A former LSU Baseball star and New Orleans native is being recognized for his defensive excellence in the minor league.
Tre’ Morgan, who played a major part in LSU Baseball’s world series winning team in 2023, was recently named a recipient of the 2025 Minor League Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Rawlings and Minor League Baseball announced the winners on Sunday evening, Nov. 2.
Morgan, who is considered a Triple-A first basemen with the Durham Bulls, posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in 441 chances with the team this season, while contributing to 36 double plays.
He was drafted in the third round (88th overall) of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2023.
