CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Cincinnati Reds have traded infielder/outfielder Ryan Vilade to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Monday.
Vilade began the 2025 season with the St. Louis Cardinals before being claimed off waivers by the Reds on June 14 and optioned to Triple-A Louisville. He was recalled to Cincinnati on June 25 and made his lone appearance with the Reds on June 27 against San Diego. In that game against the Padres, an 8-1 win, Vilade entered the game in the 8th inning and did not have an at-bat.
Vilade was optioned back to Louisville on July 4. The 26-year-old hit .296 with the Bats in 65 games, with 12 HR and 35 RBI.
In 64 career MLB games he’s hit .141 with five runs batted in.
