A petition has been launched over the Los Angeles Dodgers’ White House visit.

The Dodgers topped the Blue Jays in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series on Saturday night. Los Angeles tied the game with a solo home run from Miguel Rojas in the top of the ninth inning. They ended up winning the game on a solo home run from catcher Will Smith in the top of the 11th inning. The Dodgers have won back-to-back titles.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is already talking about winning three World Series titles in a row.

“I can’t talk about ruining anything today, guys, I’m finally disappointed, but we talked last year about running it back,” Roberts said at the World Series parade.

“And before I get to that, a word stuck out really to me after we won game seven, the word ‘mirror.’

“And the reason I bring this word up is because every time we take the field, our players look in the mirror, and what we see is you guys, we see toughness, we see passion, we see perseverance, too.”

The Dodgers, who won the World Series last year, visited President Trump at the White House to celebrate. They are expected to do it again this year.

However, a petition has been launched, trying to get the Dodgers to skip out on the White House visit.

Petition over Dodgers’ White House visit

A petition, launched on actionnetwork.org, has more than 6,000 signatures as of Wednesday evening.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers have always been more than a baseball team – they’re part of the spirit of who we are as a city. The team represents our neighborhoods, our families, and our shared love for our diverse communities. But right now, our community, our city are under siege, we need them to stand with us, on the right side of history,” the petition reads.

“Please join our petition by asking the Dodgers not to attend the traditional ceremony at the White House. Ask the team to honor the unity, integrity and diversity they themselves represent. They cannot stay silent as our families and neighbors face violence, detention, and deportation.

“By visiting a president who has used his power to harm the most vulnerable, the team would be turning its back on the very people who fill the stadiums, wear the jerseys, and give this team its heart.

“By encouraging the team to do the right thing, we will show the White House that Los Angeles stands for compassion, dignity, and solidarity with their immigrant neighbors.”
