Trey Lipscomb played his second season in Major League Baseball in 2025. The former Vol appeared in three games for the Nationals during the 2025 MLB regular season.

Following the conclusion of the World Series, Washington announced the former Vol cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A.

“Trey Lipscomb cleared outright waivers, and he has been assigned outright to Triple-A Rochester,” the Nationals announced.

In three games for Washington in 2025, Lipscomb went 2-for-4 and totaled two bases and scored one run.

The former Vol appeared in 61 games for the Nationals as a rookie in 2024. He recorded a .200 batting average, one home run, 10 RBIs, 20 runs and 16 walks.

Lipscomb was selected by Washington in the third round of the 2022 MLB draft (No. 84 overall). He won the 2022 Southeastern Conference Tournament and regular-season championship with the Vols.

Lipscomb appeared in 66 games for the Vols in 2022. He totaled 22 home runs, 84 RBIs, 68 runs, 89 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, 26 walks and four stolen bases.
