The Los Angeles Angels have been without star outfielder Mike Trout for 17 consecutive games due to a knee injury. Though the Angels have mostly struggled this season, even when Trout was active, they are seemingly turning things around.
Los Angeles is 6-4 in their last 10 games, and they are in the midst of a four-game winning streak. This includes a three-game series sweep over their in-city rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. As they look to continue their hot streak, the Angels will take on the Athletics on Tuesday night.

In addition to their upward trend, the Angels also received an exciting announcement regarding Trout that could have a positive impact on the team.

Trout has not played since April 30 in a loss to the Seattle Mariners. Additionally, there is currently no timetable for his return. However, according to Angels beat writer Rhett Bollinger, Trout feels “no soreness after jogging on the field yesterday,” and he is progressing closer to his return.
“Mike Trout said he has no soreness after jogging on the field yesterday,” Bollinger wrote on X. “Ran at 50-60% intensity. He said his final hurdle will be running the bases.”
Before going down with his injury, Trout struggled to begin the season. Through 29 games, the New Jersey native was hitting .179 in 106 at bats. He also hit nine home runs and batted in 18 runs.

Despite his early-season struggles, Trout is still one of the league’s greatest players in recent history. He may not be the perennial MVP candidate he was in the past, but there are still reasons to be excited about the 33-year-old’s impending return for the Angels.
