Cleveland Guardians all-star pitcher Emmanuel Clase pleaded not guilty to charges he participated in an alleged scheme to rig bets based on pitches he threw during Major League Baseball games.

Michael Ferrara, a lawyer for Clase, entered the plea on his behalf at a federal court hearing on Thursday in Brooklyn, New York. US Magistrate Judge Joseph Marutollo released Clase on $600,000 bond and restricted his travel to New York and Ohio.
