The Cincinnati Reds have made an addition to their big-league coaching staff.

The Reds on Nov. 13 announced Oscar Marin had been hired as a bullpen coach, with Matt Tracy moving to assistant pitching coach after serving as the club’s bullpen coach for the last three seasons.

Marin is in his 17th season as a professional pitching coach and eighth as a member of a big-league coaching staff. Most recently, Marin served as the Pittsburgh Pirates‘ pitching coach. During his time in Pittsburgh, Paul Skenes unanimously won the 2025 NL Cy Young Award and the staff produced 19 shutouts this past season.

Marin’s hire came after now-former assistant pitching coach Simon Mathews left Cincinnati to become the pitching coach of the Washington Nationals.
