The Arizona Fall League finished up this week. The White Sox had nine prospects in on the action, including headliners OF Braden Montgomery (White Sox No. 1/MLB No. 35) and LHP Hagen Smith (No. 5/No. 88). Rounding out the crew were: IF Sam Antonacci (No. 11), RHP Tyler Davis, IF Ryan Galanie, RHP Carson Jacobs, OF Caden Connor, RHP Connor McCullough, and RHP Jarold Rosado.

The White Sox hopefuls played for the Glendale Desert Dogs and shared the dugout with players from the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Due to some impending bad weather headed for the Grand Canyon State, the week’s schedule was adjusted a bit. The final games on Wednesday were cancelled, and the playoff contests were bumped up a day.

Monday, Nov. 10, 2025: Mesa Solar Sox 2, Glendale Desert Dogs 1 (7 innings)
Connor and Galanie were ice-cold, combining to go 0-for-6 between them. Montgomery and Antonacci got to kick back with a day off after their Fall Stars cameo.

Rosado had a rocky outing, securing only one out and surrendering a run on three straight walks to lead off the inning. After packing the sacks, he handed out a tally on a force out that allowed the game’s first run to score, and he promptly got the hook.

Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025: Glendale Desert Dogs 11, Scottsdale Scorpions 6 (7 innings)
Montgomery (2-for-4, 2 2B, RBI) was back to doing top prospect things, hammering a 109.8 mph double to plate Antonacci (0-for-3, BB), who reached on a walk. The duo has made quite a tag-team batting back-to-back in the order, with Antonacci getting on base and Montgomery finding ways to bring him home. Rinse, repeat.

Jacobs tiptoed through the sixth for a hold, but not before yielding two runs in the sixth. He allowed a single and three walks before being replaced by Randel Clemente, who limited the damage and closed out the contest.

Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025: AFL Quarterfinals — Peoria Javelinas 8, Glendale Desert Dogs 7
This one was a heartbreaker for the Dogs. They led most of the way, only to lose on an unearned tally in the eighth. The Sox kids did their part, though, in trying to push Glendale on to the semifinals. Antonacci (1-for-5), Connor (1-for-4, HR, RBI), and Montgomery (3-for-5, 2 2B, RBI) played the entire game and combined to score four of the seven DD’s runs.

Montgomery wasted no time, doubling in Antonacci (thanks to an error) in the first. He added a seeing-eye single that snuck past the shortstop, then legged out another double in the seventh. If Braden brings this kind of juice to spring training, the Sox will have no choice but to pencil him into right field for 2026. He finished the AFL slashing .366/.527/.634, good for a 1.161 OPS, with six doubles, and a lone dinger. Not a ton of homers, but that .634 slugging? Sixth-best in the league.

Connor got on the board with a solo shot in the sixth, his first of the fall. With a .359/.494/.391 line and an .885 OPS, the 24-year-old is making a case to climb the South Side prospect ladder.

That’s a wrap for the AFL. Now, the long, cold wait for spring. In the meantime, please keep checking in for the latest hot stove news and our annual Top 100 Prospects.
