Tennessee baseball is tabbing Keegan Knoll as the program’s next strength and conditioning coach, GoVols247’s Ben McKee and KNS Mike Wilson first reported on Friday afternoon.
Knoll is replacing Quentin Eberhardt, who is leaving the Tennessee program to become the new Director of Performance with the San Fransisco Giants. Eberhardt served as Tennessee’s strength and conditioning coach for the 2018-2021 seasons and again from the 2023-25 season.
Eberhardt spent the 2022 season with the Chicago Cubs before returning to Knoxville. His close relationship with Tony Vitello and his previous MLB experience made him a prime candidate to follow Vitello to San Fransisco.
New Tennessee head coach Josh Elander quickly turned to Knoll and hired him to be the Vols’ new strength and conditioning coach.

Knoll had most recently served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2025 season. Prior to that, Knoll spent the previous seven years in various positions inside the Chicago Cubs organization. Knoll is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
It’s the second major hire that Elander has made as Tennessee’s head coach. Elander previously hired Florida assistant Chuck Jeroloman as the Vols’ new associate head coach. Jeroloman was the associate head coach and acting head coach for the Gators during head coach Kevin O’Sullivan’s current leave of absence.
The Vols wrapped up their fall practice last weekend and now turns their attention to fully altering and ironing out staff responsibilities over the next two months before preseason practice begins in January.
