The MLB offseason is underway and players are already starting to prepare for next season.

That includes two former Boston Red Sox teammates Alex Bregman and Rob Refsnyder, who are both free agents this winter.

Nemesis Baseball shared an Instagram post on Sunday with photos of several MLB players working out together, including Bregman, Refsnyder, Matt Chapman and others.

Bregman and Refsnyder were pictured together with Refsnyder watching Bregman do an indoor sprinting drill.

Both are free agents coming off successful seasons with the Red Sox. Bregman opted out of the two years and $80 million remaining on his contract with Boston, looking to test the market for the second straight offseason.

The 31-year-old third baseman made his third career All-Star team last season and enjoyed a resurgence at the plate in his first Red Sox campaign, posting his highest OPS (.821) since 2019. Despite missing 48 games, he was still an AL Silver Slugger finalist after batting .273/.360/.462 with 18 home runs and 62 RBI.

Refsnyder, 34, enjoyed another productive season as a platoon bat for Boston. The veteran outfielder batted .269/.354/.484 with nine homers, 30 RBI and 1.2 WAR in 209 plate appearances last season, primarily against left-handed pitchers.

Refsnyder has been a valuable role player for the Red Sox with an .804 OPS over the last four years.

While both players are seeking new contracts, both have expressed a willingness to return to Boston next year. In the meantime, they are working hard to stay in shape and get ready for 2026.
