OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – Olathe’s snowplow fleet has a new member with a name that may be familiar to Kansas City sports fans.
City leaders announced on Tuesday, Nov. 18, that “Salvador Brrrez” officially joined their winter fleet. Kansas City Royals mascot Sluggerrr helped unveil the MLB-inspired moniker.

The clever name plays on Salvador Perez, the beloved catcher and first baseman for the Royals.
However, city leaders said they want more creative names before plows hit the streets this winter. Residents can submit ideas by commenting on Olathe’s social media posts on X and Facebook.
Four other Olathe plows were named in 2024:
Daniel Plowloi – a reference to Sporting Kansas City forward Daniel SalloiTravis Kelsleet – a nod to Chiefs tight end Travis KelceTaylor Drift – a reference to Taylor SwiftIsaiah Plowcheco – in honor of Chiefs running back Isaiah Pacheco

When winter weather hits, Olathe residents can track each snowplow’s location through the online system HERE.
The City’s snow removal teams start to plan when winter weather is forecasted. After roads are pre-treated, crews work around the clock during storms to keep streets passable.
The city prioritizes major roadways and collector streets during snow events to ensure emergency routes are maintained. Once the storm ends, crews continue to work until all roads are cleared.
