After a 2025 OVC regular season championship, the EIU baseball team has bolstered their roster with 10 newcomers during the NCAA November signing period.
Head Coach Jason Anderson announced ten new members, including players from the freshman and JUCO ranks. Coach Anderson has added Jimmy Angle, Cameron Barnes, Ryan Brucker, Cody DelFavero, Tommy Georgelos, Larsen Koester, Gavin McLane, Ryan Rodman, Caleb Seibers, and Lucas Simulick.
Jimmy Angle (Delafield, WI) is a 6’1 outfielder that played high school baseball at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wisconsin. During his high school career, Angle earned four varsity letters in baseball. Angle earned a baseball classic 8 conference honorable mention. He led his team to a 2024 sectional appearance. Outside of baseball, Angle was a varsity letter recipient in soccer and football. The soccer defensive MVP played travel baseball for the GRB STIKS and GRB National. Off the field, Angle was a National Honor Society and honor roll student.
Cameron Barnes (Oak Park, Illinois) is a 6’4 right-handed pitcher/first baseman who attended Oak Park River Forest High School. Coached by Kevin Campbell, Barnes was an all-conference recipient in the WSC during his junior year. Barnes led his team to the conference championship and regional championship. He played travel baseball for the Wow Factor Stoppers. Outside of baseball, he was a three-year varsity letterwinner and conference all-star in hockey. Off the field, Barnes was on the honor roll.
Ryan Brucker (Princeton, Illinois) is a 5’11 shortstop transfer from Illinois Central College. Prior to ICC, Brucker attended Princeton High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner for baseball and basketball. During his baseball career, he was a two-time all-conference recipient. Brucker played his travel baseball for the Central Illinois Outlaws.
Cody DelFavero (Morris, Illinois) is a 5’10 left-handed pitcher/outfielder who played high school baseball at Morris Community. At the end of his high school career, DelFavero was a two-time first-team all-conference, Class 3A Player of the Year, IHSBCA First Team All-State, Shaw Local First-Team All-Area, I-8 Conference Player of the Year, PBR Illinois second-team all-state, and went 14-0 on the mound. He led his team to the state finals in 2024 for the first time since 1995 for Morris baseball. Prior to his commitment to EIU, DelFavero played at Parkland College, where he was on the Dean’s list and honor roll.
Tommy Georgelos (Western Springs, Illinois) is a 5’10 outfielder who played high school baseball at Lyons Township-Lagrange. Coached by Kevin Diete, he played both baseball and football during his high school career. A highlight moment for Georgelos was winning the regionals on a walk-off. Outside of his high school career, Georgelos played for the Windy City Baseball Club. Off the field, he was an honor roll student.
Larsen Koester (Chanute, Kansas) is a 6’1 first baseman who is a transfer from Neosho County Community College. Koester was named to the all-conference team during his time at the JUCO level. Prior to college, Koester attended Chanute High School, where he was an all-state baseball player for all four years. He was the runner-up for Kansas Player of the Year and led his team to a Kansas 4A Runner-up title. Koester was a two-time all-state basketball player. He played travel baseball for the Outlaws and Yard Baseball Club, while also being an honor roll recipient for all four years in high school.
Gavin McLane (Tiffin, Ohio) is a 6’2 infielder who is transferring from Bryant and Stratton College. McLane earned a second-team all-conference at Bryant and Stratton College. Prior to college, McLane attended Tiffin Columbian High School, where he was a two-time all-conference, all-district, and conference champion. Outside of baseball, he was a three-year gold varsity letter recipient. He played travel baseball for the Post 3 Findlay Legion. Off the field, he was a scholar athlete letter winner.
Ryan Rodman (Kokomo, Indiana) is a 6’0 catcher from Western High School in Russiaville. Rodman comes from a talented sports family, with his dad playing baseball at Bethel University and his mom playing softball and volleyball at Lake Michigan Central. During his high school career, Rodman was a first-team all-state member in 2025, an all-state honorable mention in 2024, and a first-team all-conference member in 2024 and 2025. Rodman led his team to the Hoosier Conference Championship in 2023 and 2024 and the Sectional Championship in 2025.
Caleb Seibers (Carmi, Illinois) is a 5’10 infielder who is transferring from Olney Central College. Prior to his college career, Seibers attended Carmi White County High School, where he was a 3x All-Conference and 2x All-South baseball player. Outside of baseball, Seibers participated in wrestling and football, in which he was an all-conference wrestler and won three regional championships. Off the field, Seibers graduated with high honors.
Lucas Simulick (Shorewood, Illinois) is a 5’10 infielder who attended Joliet Catholic Academy. During his high school career, Simulick earned two all-conference ESCC selections and a second-team all-area baseball selection by the Herald News. He was awarded the ESCC defensive player of the year. He helped lead his team to a state championship in his freshman year and two conference championships. Simulick also was an all-conference recipient on the football team. Off the field, he was a National Honor Society student, Math National Honor Society student, and made the honor roll every semester.
