On the 19th, Seibu announced that Seibu had submitted an application through the Nippon Professional baseball (NPB) regarding pitcher Tatsuya Imai ‘s transfer to Major League Baseball via the posting system, and that Major League Baseball had notified all MLB teams.
The negotiation deadline is from 8:00 AM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 to 5:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, US East Coast Time (10:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 to 7:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, Japan Time).
Imai joined Seibu as the first pick in the 2016 draft. In his second year in 2018, he pitched in 15 games, including his professional debut, and recorded five wins. In his third year in 2019, he established himself in the starting rotation, with a record of 7 wins and 9 losses and ERA 4.32. In 2021, he reached the required innings pitched for the first time, finishing with a record of 8 wins and 8 losses and ERA of 3.30.
