LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Athletics say construction on a new baseball stadium on the Las Vegas Strip reached another milestone.

Crews began pouring concrete for the lower concourse of the stadium, the team posted to social media on Tuesday.

“This pour forms the floor for the first level of seats, the lower concourse suites, and the clubs located behind home plate and along the baselines!” the post reads.

A’s team owner John Fisher and other dignitaries held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the ballpark, which is being built at the site of the old Tropicana casino-hotel, back in June.

The team has said it expects to complete construction of the Las Vegas stadium in time for the 2028 MLB season. The A’s are playing in West Sacramento, California, in the interim.
