Among a handful of minor league signings the Rangers announced late Tuesday are a former first-round pick and a reliever who logged 70 innings for Skip Schumaker’s Miami Marlins team in 2024.
The Rangers announced the signings of RHPs Declan Cronin, Peyton Gray and Trey Supak and infielder Richie Martin Jr. to minor league contracts. All four will receive invites to major league spring training in 2026.
At the top of the list is Cronin, who is more of a long-term play than potential help for 2026. Cronin, 28, pitched in 56 games for the Marlins in 2024 and had a sub-3.00 ERA entering July, but wore down in the second half. He did not pitch in the majors in 2025 and underwent elbow ligament replacement surgery at the end of the season. He’s not expected to pitch in 2026.
