Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Major League Baseball has officially announced that the Minnesota Twins will take on the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2026 Field of Dreams Game, bringing the beloved exhibition event back to the iconic Iowa cornfield for another memorable night of baseball.

The game is scheduled for August 13, 2026, at the temporary ballpark constructed adjacent to the original “Field of Dreams” movie site in Dyersville, Iowa. The announcement confirms reports that first surfaced in late August regarding the upcoming matchup.

This will mark another chapter in the Field of Dreams Game series, which has captured the imagination of baseball fans since its inception. The specially constructed stadium, nestled among the cornfields of rural Iowa, provides a unique backdrop that pays homage to the 1989 film starring Kevin Costner.

Adding to the excitement, MLB also announced that the St. Paul Saints and Iowa Cubs will play on the field two days earlier, on August 11th. This minor league matchup will give fans an additional opportunity to experience baseball at this one-of-a-kind venue.

The Saints, the Triple-A affiliate of the Twins, and the Cubs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, will bring their own storylines to Dyersville, making it a full weekend of baseball in the heart of Iowa.

The Field of Dreams Game has become a highly anticipated event on the baseball calendar, blending nostalgia with America’s pastime in a setting that celebrates both the sport’s history and its enduring appeal.
