On the 21st, Seibu announced that the team had submitted an application through the Seibu Professional baseball (NPB) regarding pitcher Kona Takahashi ‘s transfer to Major League Baseball via the posting system, and that Major League Baseball had notified all MLB teams of the application.
The negotiation deadline was announced as being from 8:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2025 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026, US East Coast Time (10:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2025 to 7:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026, Japan Time).
Mitsunari Takahashi joined Seibu as the first pick in the 2014 draft. In his first year in 2015, he recorded five wins, including his first professional win, and in his fifth year in 2019, he achieved his first double-digit win total.
