The Minnesota Twins made a flurry of roster moves Friday on the league’s non-tender deadline.
That deadline is when teams have to offer contracts to arbitration-eligible players or cut them loose.
Entering Friday, the Twins had yet to make a decision on seven players:

The team avoided arbitration with Topa on Friday morning, agreeing to a one-year deal worth a guaranteed $1.225 million. KSTP Sports’ Darren “Doogie” Wolfson reports that Topa also received escalators that could push that deal up to $1.3 million.
Additionally, the club designated outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. for assignment and traded minor-league infielder Payton Eeles to Baltimore for reserve catcher Alex Jackson.
