Andrew Friedman and Farhan Zaidi have new jobs. Sort of.
The Dodgers executives have taken on advisory roles with the Lakers, according to a report from ESPN.
Friedman and Zaidi are said to be helping Mark Walter, who also owns the Dodgers, as ownership of the franchise transfers to him from the Buss family.

Zaidi, who rejoined the Dodgers as a special advisor earlier this year, is serving as Walter’s representative in the transition, per ESPN.
Friedman, the Dodgers’ longtime president of baseball operations, is reportedly consulting for Lakers president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka.
The statistically inclined Friedman and Zaidi have decades of combined experience in baseball front offices and are seen as some of the most analytical minds in the sport.

The news comes just days after brothers Joey and Jesse Buss were fired from the Lakers after 20 years in the organization formerly owned by their dad, Jerry.
In June, Walter acquired a majority stake in the Lakers from the Buss family for a valuation of $10 billion, a record for a professional sports team in the United States.
The deal allowed Jeanie Buss to remain the Lakers’ governor for at least the next five years.
Joey and Jesse had worked in the Lakers’ scouting department over the past 10 years.

The former was the team president and CEO of the G League South Bay Lakers, and the latter was the director of scouting.
The pair will retain their minority ownership stakes of the Lakers after their firing, per ESPN.
Walter bought the Dodgers in 2012 for a then-record $2.15 billion.
Since then, the Dodgers have been one of the best runs in baseball history, winning 12 division titles and three World Series championships.
