LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Clark County commissioners accepted terms of a $3.7 million bond if a new baseball stadium on the Las Vegas Strip can’t be completed.

Commissioners approved a performance agreement with the Athletics as part of routine action items brought forward during a zoning meeting Wednesday.

Under the agreement, the A’s say they will execute a “surety and performance bond” of about $3.7 million, the estimated total cost for decommissioning work, that the county would control.

It also includes a 5% contingency, valued at about $185,400, for any unforeseen costs.

The performance agreement will be voided once the county issues a certificate of completion or occupancy for the stadium.

Team executives for the A’s have said they plan to hold a ceremonial groundbreaking construction in June, and the stadium will be completed in time for the 2028 MLB season.
