Baltimore Orioles play-by-play announcer Geoff Arnold will not be returning to the team’s broadcasts in 2026, a team source confirmed to The Athletic on Monday. Arnold, who won the 2023 Maryland Sportscaster of the Year Award, was recently named one of Front Office Sports’ 26 play-by-play announcers to watch.
His contract expired after the 2025 season, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, and the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) opted not to renew it. Arnold declined to comment on the situation.
Arnold was the team’s lead play-by-play on radio and was slotted behind Kevin Brown for TV duties. Arnold spent five years at the team’s Class-A affiliate in Frederick, Md., before he was promoted to the big leagues in 2020.
His departure is expected to be the only major change to Orioles broadcasts in 2026, though many teams — including Baltimore — may choose to pare down their operations with the potential for a work stoppage following the 2026 season.
Arnold was a finalist last year for the Miami Marlins primary play-by-play television job which ultimately went to Jack McMullen.
