Baltimore Orioles radio voice Geoff Arnold will not be back on the team’s broadcasts in 2026, a team source confirmed to The Athletic on Monday. The decision ends a six-year run for one of the franchise’s most recognizable modern voices and comes at a time when several MLB organizations are reassessing their media operations.
According to the report, Arnold’s contract expired after the 2025 season. The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) chose not to renew it.
Arnold has not publicly commented on the reporting. The Orioles have not removed Arnold off their website as of Monday afternoon.
The move marks a surprising shift for a broadcaster who had quickly become a staple of Orioles coverage. Arnold was named the 2023 Maryland Sportscaster of the Year and served as the club’s lead radio play-by-play voice and also worked behind Kevin Brown on select television assignments.
Before joining the Major League booth in 2020, Arnold spent five seasons calling games for Baltimore’s Class-A affiliate in Frederick, Maryland. He graduated from Dickinson College in 2010. After college, Arnold first pursued a career as an umpire. He later moved into broadcasting with the Frisco RoughRiders and Wilmington Blue Rocks.
In addition to his baseball work, the Pennsylvania native calls events for the ACC Network, ESPN3, and ESPN+. He also covers George Washington men’s and women’s basketball. Additionally, he calls games for the Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers.
For now, Arnold’s exit appears to be the only significant change expected for the Orioles’ broadcast lineup entering 2026. Arnold’s name had also surfaced in other markets. Last year, he was a finalist for the Miami Marlins’ primary television play-by-play job, a role that ultimately went to Jack McMullen.
