Michael King Signs With Miami Marlins
With the Marlins showing interest in someone like Michael King, the pairing could make a lot of sense. Miami needs help in the starting pitching department, and King is one of the better middle-tier options.
The Marlins ikey won’t spend at the top of the free agent market, but King could be an intriguing gst for them. King is coming off another nice year with the San Diego Padres, even though he dealt with some injuries throughout the season.
Over the past few years, since he became a full-time starter, King has been excellent, posting an ERA of 2.93 over 53 starts. The right-hander has put up a 27.4 percent strikeout rate, and he has limited the walks over time as well.
The right-hander could join an already strong rotation, helping to fully round everything out. Putting him next to Edward Cabrera, Sandy Alcantara, Eury Perez, Braxton Garrett, and Ryan Weathers could give Miami one of the deepest rotations in the sport.
Overall, this could be a smart signing by Miami, and it would allow them to stay competitive in the National League. Miami fell just short of making the playoffs this year, and this could be a way for the front office to get them over the hump next season.
