The Texas Rangers have already been active on the fringes of their MLB roster this offseason.

On Tuesday, that meant signing a new guy.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Tuesday evening that the Rangers have signed Jonah Bride.
Bride is a 29-year old who will reunite with new Rangers manager Skip Schumaker.
Bride played for Skip in Miami in 2024, which was Bride’s best MLB season. That year, he hit 10 home runs in part-time action with an .818 OPS.
He originally debuted with the Oakland Athletics in 2022 and played parts of two seasons for the A’s.

Bride then had that strong season with the Marlins in 2024.
He began 2025 with the Marlins but struggled, with just 4 hits in 40 at bats, before going to the Twins, where hit .208 with three home runs in 33 games.
The hope for the Rangers will be that Bride can recapture some of that 2024 ability.
He has the potential to be at least a little versatile. Bride has played third base, first base and even a little second base in MLB (along with a few pitching appearances in mop-up duty).

Bride will turn 30 on Dec. 27. This is his chance to prove he still belongs and stick around MLB for a while.
