The New York Mets are hoping for a bounce-back year in 2026 after failing to reach the MLB postseason.

Despite a disappointing season that unraveled after the All-Star break, the club still has the core in place to contend if the roster is properly retooled, led by shortstop Francisco Lindor. The 32-year-old veteran just completed his fifth season in Queens, and it was a strong one.

Lindor posted a .267 batting average, .346 on-base percentage, .811 OPS, 31 home runs and 31 stolen bases across 160 games. He finished 10th in NL MVP voting and continued to provide elite defense up the middle, offering consistency for the Mets even as the team struggled.
