Bryan senior Carter Dominique and junior Cade Carlin were named to the Northwest Ohio Athletic League first team as the league recently announced its selections for the 2025 baseball season.
This is the fourth All-NWOAL baseball selection for Dominique, last season’s NWOAL Player of the Year, while this is Carlin’s second. Dominique was a first-team honoree last season after a second-team pick in 2023 and honorable mention in 2022, and Carlin was an honorable mention last year.
Dominique had a 3-4 record, 2.53 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 71 strikeouts in 74 innings on the mound during the regular season for the Golden Bears (9-15, 3-4 NWOAL). Offensively, the righty had a team-best .333 batting average 12 RBIs, 14 runs and a team-high 15 walks in the regular season.
Carlin tallied a 3-3 record, 2.52 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 39 strikeouts in 33 1/3 frames. Offensively, he batted .304 with 10 RBIs, 11 stolen bases and 15 runs.
Bryan junior Carter Luce received a second-team selection for the second season in a row while Bryan senior Gavin Pittman and sophomore Cam Bukowski got honorable mentions for their first all-league baseball honors of their careers.
Luce, a utility infielder, is batting .301 with with team highs in doubles (seven), RBIs (16) and runs (18) entering Thursday’s Division IV sectional final at Ottawa-Glandorf.
Pittman, a left-handed pitcher, had an 0-2 record, 1.80 ERA and 1.46 WHIP with 21 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings. Bukowski, a right-handed pitcher and catcher, is hitting .284 with 10 RBIs and 10 runs with a 1-1 record, 3.20 ERA, 2.19 WHIP and 17 strikeouts on the bump.
Archbold senior lefty Zach Short was named NWOAL Player of the Year and Evergreen coach Chris Owens was tabbed NWOAL Coach of the Year.
Both helped their programs win a share of the NWOAL crown, with both programs going 6-1 in league play this season. It was Archbold’s third consecutive league title and Evergreen’s first in program history.
