For any teams that need pitching help this winter, luckily, there are plenty of options to choose from between the starters and relief pitchers. This year’s free agent class is one of the more well-rounded in recent memory, giving teams plenty of opportunities to sign players who can make a difference.
One of those relief options is veteran closer Kenley Jansen, who is coming off a strong year as a member of the Los Angeles Angels. Jansen is on the older side of things, and he could be looking to join a contender for the new season.
In 62 appearances with the Angels, the veteran closer posted an ERA of 2.59 and put up 29 saves for the season. The veteran has been one of the better relief options across the sport over the past few years, and there should be a few teams interested in his services.
Jansen has said that he is very open to a return to the Angels, but Los Angeles may be looking to get younger moving forward. This would open the door for other teams, and it could see him land a multi-year deal.
But due to his age, 38, teams could be wary of giving him more than one year on a contract. This could see Jansen look to be more picky with where he could land for next season.
However, the veteran could be one of the better options for teams that miss out on the top-tier bullpen arms this year. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the former All-Star, but he may be a steal, depending on where he signs.

Kenley Jansen Signs With Minnesota Twins
One team that makes a lot of sense for Jansen is the Minnesota Twins. Minnesota underwent a complete fire sale in its bullpen at the trade deadline this year, and now it needs to add to the roster.
Putting Jansen into the backend of the bullpen could be one of the better options for the Twins, and he isn’t likely to cost too much either. But Jansen could give Minnesota a reliable arm for late-game situations, and he could always be a trade chip down the line.
With Minnesota being in a rebuild, if Jansen were to keep up his strong play, he could be moved at the trade deadline to a bullpen-needy team. This would give the Twins another chance to add more assets for the future, making this a potentially strong idea to bring him in.
Jansen may prefer to latch on with a team that will be contending more, but the Twins could also surprise people. Overall, this could be a solid landing spot for the veteran, giving him a chance to keep his career going strong.
