The Philadelphia Phillies have multiple crucial free agents entering the open market this winter. After yet another disappointing end to the season, Philadelphia has a lot of pressure to build a more well-rounded roster this offseason.
The Phillies need more consistency at the plate, first off, and it could see the front office look to bring some depth pieces into the mix. Philadelphia has the star power on the team, but they need more of the utility-type guys who can come in to fill certain roles.
It remains to be seen how the Phillies will do this, but something needs to change for this organization to avoid wasting another season. Phialdelphia has the talent to win the World Series, but they just haven’t figured out how to get over the hump wth this core group.
This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Rhys Hoskins Returns to the Philadelphia Phillies
One name that the Phillies could consider signing this offseason is veteran infielder Rhys Hoskins, who has spent the past few years with the Milwaukee Brewers. Before going to Milwaukee, Hoskins was a fan-favorite with the Phillies, and he saw a ton of success with the organization.
However, injuries have taken over his career during the past few years, and he hasn’t looked like the same player. But Hoskins can still mash the ball when healthy, and he could be a risk worth taking for Philadelphia.
In 90 games played this past season with the Brewers, Hoskins hit. 237 with 12 home runs and 43 runs batted in. The hope for the Phillies would be that he could round back into form coming back to the team, and help them get over the hump.
Due to the injury concerns, this would be a risk for the Phillies, but it also could be a gamble worth taking. Until this past season, Hoskins had hit at least 26 home runs in each of the past three seasons that he played in.
His power bat could be a welcome addition to the club, especially if Philadelphia were to lose some of its free agents on the open market. The two sides know each other well, and this reunion could be a special one for both parties.
Hoskins could look to reinvent his career with his old team, while Philadelphia would get a solid hitter for the season. If the veteran could stay healthy, this could be one of the more underrated moves of the entire winter.
Overall, Hoskins could be a solid depth piece for the Phillies to add, and he could potentially become more as the year goes on. These are the type of moves that title teams tend to make, and the Phillies have all the pressure on themselves to win the World Series this coming season.
