With Freddy Peralta coming off the best season of his career, where he finished with a 2.70 ERA, and 204 strikeouts, he is becoming the ideal trade candidate for the Milwaukee Brewers this MLB offseason.
The Milwaukee Brewers currently have concerns over their payroll, which has led to increased discussions centered around a Freddy Peralta trade. Peralta is playing on the final year of his current five-year, $15.5 million contract, leaving him set to be a free agent after the upcoming season. This has already led to them looking for trade offers for Peralta to ensure they don’t lose him for no value in return by the time the end of the season comes.
Brewers expected to field offers for Freddy Peralta this offseason, per @ByMcCullough.

With it seeming that Freddy Peralta will be traded, the team that makes sense to trade for him is the Seattle Mariners.

Milwaukee Brewers Trade Freddy Peralta to the Seattle Mariners
On the surface, a trade for Freddy Peralta might not make sense. The Seattle Mariners already have a pitching staff of Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, Bryan Woo, Bryce Miller, and Logan Evans.
Yet, the Mariners have been rumored to be looking to trade Luis Castillo for some time. A trade for Freddy Peralta, who has a career 3.59 ERA with 1,153 strikeouts, would present Seattle with the chance to trade Castillo, while also advancing their pitching rotation further.
In doing so as well, trading Castillo would end up saving Seattle roughly over $65 million all while still improving their  pitching rotation in the process. A trade for Freddy Peralta is a move that shows the Mariners are going all-in for the 2026 season after they came just one game shy of making the World Series last year.
