While things have started off slow for the Philadelphia Phillies this offseason, things could be about ot pick up as the calendar flips to December.

The annual winter meetings get underway next week in Orlando, where GMs will get together and discuss ways to improve their clubs.

ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan listed his Top 25 trade candidates, with one Phillies player landing on the list, and other names being connected to Philadelphia as trade targets and potential fits.

Passan’s Top Trade Targets Named as Potential Phillies FitsKetel Marte, 2B, Arizona D-BacksByron Buxton, CF, Minnesota TwinsJarren Duran, OF, Boston Red SoxSteven Kwan, OF, Cleveland GuardiansWilyer Abreu, OF, Boston Red SoxLuis Robert Jr., CF, Chicago White Sox

This group has some interesting names; all of them would be nice additions to the lineup.

I discussed Marte last week in an article that showed the Phillies’ interest in the All-Star. Buxton and Robert Jr. are both right-handed power bats that could help solve the Phillies’ center field issues. Duran, Abreu, and Kwan all hit left-handed, but could add to the Phillies’ lineup.

As for the one Phillies player Passan sees getting moved, he lists Alec Bohm, with a 50/50 chance that he is traded.

Bohm being dealt could depend on the Phillies’ other moves. If they miss out on Kyle Schwarber and pivot to Alex Bregman, Bohm is as good as gone. If they spend their money elsewhere, they still could move him and either acquire a stopgap at third or run with top prospect Aidan Miller. In a winter of change in Philadelphia, Bohm is among the likeliest of Phillies not to return.

This seems a lot like last offseason, where the Phillies were willing to move Bohm if an upgrade was on the table.  They might be more willing this time around to try and add one of the above-mentioned names and change the dynamic of their lineup, which has let them down in multiple postseasons.
