2023 record: 90-72 (1st in AL West)

2024 record: 88-73 (1st in AL West)

2025 record: 87-75 (2nd in AL West)

What a difference a year makes.

As part of this exercise last offseason, I presumed many of you would feel like I did prior to diving into the team’s pre-2027 lineup and think the Astros weren’t too good heading into that season.

While I changed my mind after looking into it more, in 2028, the team loses more and more of its core and its identity; hopefully, we can answer some of the outstanding questions the 2028 Lineup Project will impose upon Houston’s favorite sons and get the team roaring towards the cosmos of the AL West standings again.

I cannot promise they will make it there, though; that’s on them.

What I can promise you is this article will have absolutely no mentions of scandal or trash cans; it’s been a million years, guys, we gotta let it go.
