The New York Yankees are facing a crucial offseason this winter after they were bounced in the American League Division Series by the rival Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox have already made big additions this winter, while the Yankees haven’t done much.
New York is going to need to get its offseason going in the coming weeks. Re-signing superstar outfielder Cody Bellinger should be the team’s top priority this offseason, but it could be difficult, considering he’s projected to sign a $168 million deal, per Jim Bowden of The Athletic.
Still, FanSided’s Mark Powell recently predicted the Yankees would re-sign Bellinger this offseason.

“I’m going out on a limb with Bellinger, who is one of the best outfielders available and has been linked to both New York teams, among others,” Powell wrote. “However, Bellinger has a lot to gain by signing as early as possible at the Winter Meetings. It is Bellinger, not Kyle Tucker, who could set the outfield market in Orlando. Bellinger can play center field, either of the corner outfield spots and first base.
“He’ll be highly-coveted this winter for his bat as well. As much as the Yankees may want to pursue Kyle Tucker, expect them to move on Bellinger early and make him an offer he can’t refuse far before Tucker finally agrees on his megadeal.”
This should be the top priority for the Yankees this offseason.
Bellinger is a slugger at the dish while also being a star in the outfield. Having him alongside Aaron Judge was a huge piece of the puzzle for the Yankees this season. They can’t afford to lose one of their top players after a disappointing end to the season.
